Two seasons after taking back the reins, house founder Jil Sander is still making a convincing argument for her brand of minimalism. This time around though, the lines were less severe and a more feminine mood prevailed: a softer minimalism. Jackets, though oversized, curved around the waist while rounded coats sloped gently down at the shoulders. Many designers did a longer skirt length this season, but Sander had some of the best in show. Hers gracefully flared a little below the knee and came in lush pleated wool or leather. For her finale, she sent out black wool coats and cashmere sweaters with eye-catching thick gold bands on them. It was a luxe and polished statement from the queen of minimal.
