Massimiliano Giornetti cut his teeth in menswear so the sleek, precise tailoring he showed was a no-brainer. His focus was on strong, solid outerwear. Strictly tailored blazers, double-breasted jackets, and trench coats were the order of the day, along with a couple of outstanding pieces in glossy pony skin and white alpaca. Though the collection was composed of sharp, linear silhouettes, it was far from clinical. Underneath the gorgeous coats and jackets were Salvatore Ferragamo’s version of sexy – leather and ponyhair minis, asymmetrical skirts, and sheer-panelled dresses. Giornetti and team also delivered a very strong accessories collection; those unfussy, boxy bags and unique sandal-boot hybrids will sell.
