Cel­e­brat­ing five years of wed­ded bliss, the group op­er­a­tions of­fi­cer and man­ag­ing di­rec­tor of In­nai and In­nai Red are the epitome of style and grace. With a baby on the way, they share their se­crets for ever­last­ing love.

How did you know it was real love? II: He in­spires me to be bet­ter, chal­lenges me to go the dis­tance, and al­ways makes my heart beat just a lit­tle faster. ML: I could not stop think­ing about her. When she’s not with me, I miss her so much. There was never a spe­cific mo­ment; the mo­ment is pretty much all the time. How did he pro­pose? II: We were late for din­ner with friends, so when he gave me this box, I said I’d open it later. Af­ter din­ner, I opened it and saw a ring box cov­ered in red rose petals. It was so un­ex­pected. Then he asked, “Will you be mine for­ever?” With tears of joy, I said yes. What ring did you get for Izrin? ML: A cus­tomised soli­taire ring set with bril­liant and princess-cut di­a­monds. It’s en­graved with our ini­tials MARCIZ and en­gage­ment date 02/09/07. Wed­ding theme? II: For the KLGCC re­cep­tion, the dais had a Moroc­can mo­tif back­drop, lamps, and tiled foun­tains. My brides­maids wore batik kaf­tans in shades of plum and deep fuch­sia while the grooms­men were clad in black baju me­layu. For the Le Meri­dien re­cep­tion, it was a minimalist English set-up of fairy lights that lit up the aisle with a white picket arch. I wore a bil­lowy chif­fon dress and Mar­cus a three-piece suit. Tell us about the han­taran. II: I re­ceived five trays: A princess-cut di­a­mond pavé wed­ding band; a Black­Berry; a minia­ture cho choco­late mosque; a Qu­ran and telekung; and an a pearl jewellery set. I gave Mar­cus se seven trays: a Dami­ani wed­ding band; a TAG Heuer watch; a cake; choco­late dates; a Thomas Pink shirt and neck­tie; a Black Black­Berry; and cologne. And your Chi­nese Ch tea cer­e­mony? II: We had that and a soirée af­ter with Mar­cus’s fam­ily at Le Meri­dien and I wore Innm a red In­nai batik cheongsam. It was a

mem­o­rable, fun ex­pe­ri­ence, re­peat­ing af­ter my mother-in-law and of­fer­ing tea to my rel­a­tives. They said my Can­tonese was good. How’s the preg­nancy so far? II: I love my cute bump and the royal treat­ment Mar­cus has been giv­ing me. What do you love most about Izrin? ML: She’s pa­tient and for­giv­ing. When she laughs its im­pos­si­ble not to laugh with her. She doesn’t pre­tend to be per­fect but works each day to be bet­ter than the day be­fore. Oh, and she has her own dance for ev­ery song and is giv­ing me the best gift ever, our first son. I know she’ll be a ter­rific mum. Look­ing for­ward to fa­ther­hood? ML: I’m over the moon. I can’t wait to teach him things, play with him, hear his first words. I guess I can only an­swer this prop­erly once I’m a dad. You have to be­come one to know how it feels. Where was the baby­moon? ML: The Naka in Phuket. We felt like we had the re­sort to our­selves. The view and the seclu­sion were just per­fect. The se­cret to mak­ing love last? II: Make qual­ity time for each other, laugh heaps, and be for­ever smit­ten.
