Bam­boo was his­tor­i­cally used by Gucci’s Floren­tine ar­ti­sans since 1947 as an iconic ex­am­ple of clever in­no­va­tion dur­ing a pe­riod of war-time ra­tioning. To­day, it is in­ter­na­tion­ally recog­nised as a Gucci sig­na­ture. As such, the new Bam­boo sun­glasses blends Gucci tra­di­tion with in­no­va­tion to re­flect the house’s con­cept of con­tem­po­rary lux­ury. The two mod­els fea­ture a so­phis­ti­cated sil­hou­ette, in­spired by the avi­a­tors of the ’70s, em­bel­lished with bam­boo de­tail on the bridge for the men’s style and also the tem­ples on the women’s. Both are en­graved with the Gucci logo in­side the tem­ples and are avail­able in two colour­ways: gold with mir­rored brown lenses and dark ruthe­nium with grey mir­rored lenses.
