IT’S A SHOE THING
Formerly a mainstay of gym rooms and street cultures, sneakers have officially taken over the high-fashion runway. For Autumn/ Winter ’13, designers sent out souped-up kicks that will leave sneakerheads panting. Alber Elbaz and Lucas Ossendrijver at Lanvin paired oversized suits and crisp shirts with sneakers splashed with up to nine colours. Raf Simons’s languid trousers and long coats looked balanced when worn with sneakers from his Adidas collaboration. Always good with jeans and sweaters or shorts and a polo tee, we love the new-season way of wearing it with a suit to instantly relax and liven up the look. Best of all, this trend breathes new life into your Nike Air Max’s and New Balance 574’s, as evidenced by Simone Marchetti.
