First of all, my father only became Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan a few years ago. Before that, my family was an aspiring middle-upper class family, like many others. The disparity is not as great as initially people would assume. Secondly, it doesn’t make me any less Malaysian. Everyone has an equal right to express their views, and I would certainly defend the right of others to speak freely. On your bedstand? I’m trying to read more fiction recommended by friends, like Life of Pi, The White Tiger, and The Harmony Silk Factory.
