In a season where punk vies for the fashion spotlight, the Marc Jacobs woman does rebellion not by piling chains and studs on herself but by doing things on her own terms – wearing sequins to bed, an evening dress to the grocery store, showing up at a ball in pyjamas, or, as shown on the runway, teasing her lover by turning up in nothing but the furry Mae bag concealing her modesty. She may break some fashion rules here and there, but she never breaks out of her ladylike demeanour. When everyone else switches to dark neutrals for winter, she heads in the opposite direction and insouciantly works precious white mink with that toochic-to-care attitude.
