5 MINUTES WITH ... RYAN REYNOLDS

Harper’s Bazaar (Malaysia) - - Beauty -

I remember putting on my father’s cologne when I was 14 or 15 and feeling so grown-up. I was way too stupid to know that less is more – I dabbed on half the bottle! Are you a Hugo Boss man? I wouldn’t align myself with Boss if I didn’t identify myself in their modern man motto, which to me is selfconfidence and preparedness. I find that it is somewhat nebulous these days. I hope to shed more light on this, and I believe scent plays a very important role in that. Favourite notes from the fragrances? The woody tone works for me. I come from British Columbia, Canada, and it has one of the largest forests in the world. One of my fondest memories is the trees. There is something so clean and crisp about that, which is perfectly embodied in the Boss fragrances. The actor talks scents. How does a famous face go about with gift-shopping? I do my shopping in New York most of the time but I also find online shopping helpful. What makes an ideal gift? I’ve given my brothers Hugo Boss perfumes, which have become their signature. We live in the country and they like to work on cars and machines, so tools are good, too. Did you have a signature scent as a teen? Hugo Boss Bottled Night EDT, RM291 (100ml)
