MIRRORS ON THE CEILING

Harper’s Bazaar (Malaysia) - - Talking Points -

The Eagles’s “Hotel California” has got nothing on this creative spot. A master of deception and illusion, French-Hungarian artist Mathias Kiss re-imagines narcissism with his unique art installation-hotel escape “The Kiss Room”. Designed to physically reflect its visitors while making them question their place in architecture and space, minimal furnishing in primary colours and 1,000 mirrors engage guests in a deeply personal experience. The space may be within the boisterous Le Marais café and bar La Perle, an integral part of the Parisian nightlife scene, but don’t worry about not getting a good night’s sleep; the room has been modified to prevent guests being disturbed by exterior noise and instead soothes them with a song specially developed for “The Kiss Room” by Nicholas Godin from the French band Air. Break out the pink champagne on ice. Open till August 8, 2016. Check in for one night only at La Kiss Room, 78 Rue Vieille du Temple, Paris. www.lakissroom.com
