With ingenious designs of fresh simplicity and refined luxury, the Volvo Concept Estate also introduces a tablet-like touch screen control panel in the centre console. “Not having to deal with buttons and controls for a growing number of functionalities is like being freed from a pair of handcuffs, making it possible to build a beautiful interior architecture around the portrait screen,” says Robin Page, design director interior of Volvo Car Group. Keeping in mind how popular Volvo Estate cars such as the V70 and XC70 redefined practicality and functionality, the company aims to capitalise on this heritage with the forthcoming models.
