Ankle and knee-high boots get a futuristic makeover Dior unleashed its wild animalistic side on us this season with a creative display of exotic skins and camouflage details. Signalling a change in aestheticism of which the Dior woman has very much claimed her own, Raf Simon’s Autumn/ Winter ’15 collection for the French maison introduced new modern re-inventions of the house’s iconic accessories. Take the Lady Dior bag for instance, reborn in exotic skins and bathed in vivid acid greens and red, or the saddle bag in blue and black stripes.
While handbags for this season were given an exotic twist, it was the introduction of ankle and thigh-high boots that brought the House of Dior to greater heights – first appearing at the Haute Couture Spring/Summer 14 show. This time around, the chaussures have been transmuted, sporting zebra and mottled prints, further accented by transparent plexiglass heels. Feeling bold? It’s time to walk on the wild side.
