Hergé’s artworks of Tintin and Snowy Step inside the magical world of artist-author Hergé and Tintin this month with ‘Tintin: Hergé’s Masterpiece.’ Coinciding with Rizzoli’s release of the book with the same name, the exhibition explores the evolution of Tintin’s story, from its humble newspaper origins as a weekly cartoon strip right down to the graphic format of the later books. Drawn from the rich archive of the Hergé Museum in Belgium are behind-the-scenes pencil sketches, character drawings, and watercolours that complement the original artwork from the finished stories. The exhibition also focuses on Hergé himself, whose passion for architecture and design had inspired the detailed settings of Tintin’s adventures – and is memorialised through the staging of memorable locations.
