STYLISH REVERIE “F
antasy black tie.” Count on BAZAAR’s celebration of Carine Roitfeld and JeanPaul Goude’s ingenious Icons spread in the September issue to bear a theme so elegant yet provocative. After all, what’s a party without the liberty to flaunt, especially one that so flawlessly mirrors the second installment of Roitfeld’s Icons portfolio?
Co-presented by CoverGirl, Infor, Kit and Ace, and Samsung Galaxy at The Plaza Hotel in New York City, the glorious celebration saw editors, celebrities, tastemakers, and even a royal sighting or two. From Lucky Blue to Alessandra Ambrosio, from Manolo Blahnik to the Princess Beatrice of York, the Icons party was the perfect conclusion for New York Fashion Week this year.
After making an entrance on the black carpet dressed in Saint Laurent and a Bulgari bracelet, Katy Perry took to the stage in the grand ballroom and performed a special acoustic performance of five of her greatest hits – starting with “Roar” and ending with “Firework” – for a captivated audience.
As it is with any soirée in this day and age, no party is complete without the obligatory selfie, and the Samsung Selfie Station served up that need with some very iconic technology. Belvedere-infused cocktails and Moët & Chandon champagne flowed steadily through the night, and from the fashion to the pictures, the atmosphere was no doubt, electrifying.
