Leave it to creative director Nicolas Ghesquière to pull off one of the most exciting exhibitions of the year. Making its mark in London in October and Singapore in November, the Instagram-friendly ‘Louis Vuitton Series 3’ exhibition demonstrated the maison’s skill and craftsmanship. Bringing together technology and traditional ingenuity, visitors got a closer look at how the French label’s iconic handbags were made – all from scratch. “For me, accessories never stand alone,” says Ghesquière. “There has to be a common thread between them. They’re an integral part of each outfit, either clashing or complementing it.” It is this idea that reflects itself in the series of exhibition rooms.
