THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Harper’s Bazaar (Malaysia) - - The Style -

At the turn of the 20th century, the Surrealist and Dada art movements were at the height of glory with artists such as Salvador Dalí and Marcel Duchamp pushing the boundaries of reality and imagination. But it was Man Ray who captured the essence of the decade on print, with his “camera-less photography” that turned silver gelatin papers into works of marvel. Always the dreamer, his photography continues to inspire. Case in point: Christopher Kane’s Autumn/ Winter ’15 collection, where intertwining hands and bodies reflect the photographer’s fascination with the human silhouette.
