Roswell jokes aside, the state of New Mexico is indeed one of the top stargazing locations on US soil, and the best destination to start within the territory would be its capital city Santa Fe. With countless astronomy clubs available in every corner, such as the El Valle Astronomers and Astronomy Adventures, stargazing is easily a passionate group affair. Locals and tourists from all walks of life would drive to and gather at dry plains outside the city, set up their telescopes, and enjoy the stars together. Once all is said and done, one can head over to Hotel St. Francis on Santa Fe’s Don Gaspar Avenue for a post-activity retreat. The heritage site, with its rustic Franciscan interiors, is definitely one

unique setting in which to end your night in town.
