The power of sustenance lies much further than a pretty face. Alexa Chung, sometimes model and host, other times witty fashion correspondentwriter, and most recently, fashion app Villoid cofounder, has a book under her belt, a make-up collaboration with Eyeko, and Karl Lagerfeld to count as a friend. With 2 million followers on Instagram (@chungalexa) and 1.56 million on Twitter (@alexa_chung), Chung has a unique versatility in style – from vintage floral to menswear suits – that has inspired fans, but she is also known for her alluring cat eyes.

Approachable and inspiring, yet still preserving an air of mysterious, captivating quality – this may very well be the trick. Susanna Lau of Style Bubble once commented: “Everything’s heightened in fashion. A lot of this industry is a fantasy.” And indeed, as times change, so it would seem that real life is also seeping into fantasy, and those are some serious rose-tinted glasses that we are happy to wear.
