Every creation starts with a great concept. “In a world that is turning faster and faster, time is becoming something exceptional,” says Armelle Souraud, international scientific communication director of Chanel Parfums Beauté. “For Chanel, for women, for all of us, time is the ultimate luxury, but also, the ultimate paradox: friend and enemy, timeless and instant. And so, we thought, what if we could capture the instant and make it timeless?”
Working on such a compelling idea meant finding a remarkable formula that could advance an already phenomenal product. “We wanted to give the full power of time back to women,” says Souraud, the concept brought to life with a “quasi-invisible treasure”. “It’s extremely precious because it’s ephemeral,” she says of the breakthrough active molecules in the Éphémères de Planifolia which powers up the new Sublimage La Crème.
THE G R E E N D I AMOND
The story of Sublimage begins with the humble vanilla plant, grown and harvested by a rural community of women in Madagascar, in Chanel’s “open-sky laboratories”, and transported immediately to the Chanel facility in France to be extracted into active molecules with its patented polyfractioning technique. It’s here that the magic of nature, the skill of the hand, and advanced technology combine to create this exceptional skincare range.
In 2006, the first generation of Sublimage La Crème was founded on the vanilla fruit, where the Planifolia PFA targeted the five life factors – the cellular messengers essential for skin regeneration. With age, these life factors diminish in quantity, quality, and effectiveness, limiting the skin’s ability to “communicate” on a cellular level.
Five years later, the vanilla flowers were introduced to Sublimage L’Essence to power up its antioxidant potency, and to boost the effectiveness of these “life factors”. For exceptionally troubled skin types, this Essence was truly a miracle.
