REMEMBRANCE

Harper’s Bazaar (Malaysia) - - The Culture -

‘Returned’ is an exhibition that speaks volumes of Malaysian artist Ru Yi Tan’s “Look East” policy, developed over the last 14 years since her move to Japan. Comprising of collages, sculpture installations, photography, and film, Tan’s experimental artworks beckon viewers to reassess fixed ideas and symbolic matters in the social structures they are tied to. This work adds to her strong forte comprising of prior exhibitions staged across the world, most notably in Florence, Italy, through the ‘Sensus luoghi per l'Arte Contemporanea’ installation. Let your psyche react as the artist dissects and reassembles visual traits of everyday life to form new cohesions. Until March 30 at Shalini Ganendra Fine Art, Petaling Jaya. www.shaliniganendra.com
