the Palazzo Spini Feroni in 1958 2015 was a symbolic year for Florence, in that it was the 150th anniversary of its status as the capital of Italy. To commemorate, the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo has staged an exhibition in its home, Palazzo Spini Feroni – known once upon a time as the seat of the Florence City Council. Titled ‘A Palace and the City’, this exhibition follows the history of the iconic building, from the time it was privately owned by aristocratic families to when it was a dramatic luxury hotel, and to its present state as the brand’s headquarters and atelier – all told through prestigious artworks and artefacts, angled by the input of set designer Maurizio Balò.
