NEWTON ’S LAW

Harper’s Bazaar (Malaysia) - - The Fashion -

In tandem with the return of Helmut Newton’s Pages From The Glossies, the Museum für Fotografie, or Museum of Photography, in Berlin is holding an exhibition in his honour. Presented as facsimiles of the original magazine pages in which they had appeared, the exhibited images reflect Newton’s career in fashion photography between 1956 and 1998 – a fascinating window of time when he was highly coveted by hungry publishers and magazine editors the world over. Blown up to gigantic proportions, the images retain their original headlines, page numbers, commentary, and captions. This comprehensive exhibition is accompanied by the work of another photographer, Greg Gorman, who previously complemented Newton’s ‘Big Nudes’ instalment in 2013. Until May 22 at the Museum für Fotografie, Berlin. www.smb.museum/en Captured in Melbourne for Paris, 1973
