“STRENGTH ” “I think my name speaks for itself. “Red” became my name – as decided by my friends – because my surname, Hong, translates into the colour in Cantonese. It is bold and strong. The best “red” I’ve created is my piece on Aung San Suu Kyi who sacrificed her personal happiness for her people. I’m a mixture of several shades and my personality switches around, but red is important in this world because nothing really functions without passion, love, and sacrifice – attributes signature of the colour red.”
