Couture is never without its exaggeration, and this time, designers made sure to go extreme with the silhouettes. Ruffles took centre stage, as seen at Giambattista Valli, where layers and layers of tulle were turned into magical works of wonders. At Ulyana Sergeenko, the Russian couturier gave her Soviet roots a heavy dose of Harajuku innocence— clouds of chiffon and organza flirted playfully with dreamy pastels. Giorgio Armani took a sleeker, more streamlined approach— channeling old Hollywood glamour, dramatic ruffles in delicate lilacs were reminiscent of spring’s blooming flowers.
