Count on Valentino to put a historical yet romantic spin on couture. This Spring, the Italian house looked to its Roman roots and brought Olympian goddesses back to life with dreamy togas and ornately embroidered capes. Over at Dior, diaphanous negligées were paired over figure-hugging pencil skirts, while Guo Pei (of Rihanna fame) took a more excessive approach with over-the-top embellishments. Who said less is always more, anyway?
