THE ALLURE: Azzedine Alaïa is a renegade, preferring private appointments over seasonal runway shows, and creating his own fashion dialogue away from the styles du jour. For over 40 years, the Tunisian-born fashion designer’s quietly provocative designs garnered adulations from his refined clientele. BE INSPIRED: Working with a close-knit group of friends and advisors, Alaïa introduces his first fragrance that is so signaturely Alaïa— from the golden weave cap to the bottle design inspired by his iconic 1981 Houpette dress. The composition, created by perfumer Marie Salamagne, has aquatic notes that intermingle with pink pepper, freesia, and peony, and sensuous undertones of musk. DID YOU KNOW? Alaïa dreamed of the scent “like an archaeologist dreams of sculptures from antiquity ... sculptures of perfect bodies, matched only by the women of today— an ideal and timeless beauty.”
