RED HERRING

Harper’s Bazaar (Malaysia) - - The Beauty -

For her first creations as global creative make-up and colour director of Chanel, Lucia Pica turned to a timeless hue: red. “Red is intense, vulnerable, sexual, and eternal,” says Pica of Le Rouge Collection No˚1, where a spectrum of sensual scarlets and burgundies flood the nail lacquers, lipsticks, and lip liners. “Coco Chanel said, ‘Mettez du rouge et attaquez’ (Put on lipstick and attack). For me, those ideas are fundamental to red cosmetics. They mean protection, playfulness, and strength,” expresses Pica.
