All eyes were on Diane von Furstenberg last New York Fashion Week at her studio space headquarters in the Meatpacking District. Amid a staged series of 1970s-esque scenes, models the likes of Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, and Lily Aldridge paraded on elevated platforms, and did everything from applying each other’s make-up to pretending to party in a makeshift Studio 54—all before a thousand iPhone screens. This interactive experience was just another change the designer had made, including making some items available immediately after the show, and enlisting Boston Consulting Group to elevate the brand. As the social media stars were whisked away in a conga line, one onlooker joked, “This will break the internet.”
