Cut ties

Do you have a club or gym membership that you don’t use anymore? It may not seem much, but in the long run, you’d be amazed at how unnecessary spending on monthly or yearly memberships adds up. If you have a contract with the gym, check if there’s a penalty fee for cancelling your membership.

A simple way to save cash is by making sure your car’s air filter is clean, as it can improve your petrol mileage – which means you get to save money! Simply follow the instructions in your car manual or send your vehicle in for maintenance regularly.

Practise the 10-second rule

It’s easy to fall prey to buying stuff you don’t really need. Just a stroll down the aisle at a supermarket could end with a packet of biscuits in your trolley that you’d never eat. To avoid this, start practising the 10-second rule. When you pick up an item, stop for 10 seconds and think about why you’re buying it. Ask yourself if you really need it and if you can’t justify the purchase within 10 seconds, put it back. This way, you avoid buying on impulse and clutteringclutte ing youryou home.

Did you know that most appliances have to work harder if you don’t clean out the dust that has accumulated in it? Congestions lead to your appliances using more electricity, thus making you spend more. Vacuum cleaners, washing machines, and airconditioners are especially prone to harbouring dust.
