I’d never truly looked at fitness and exercise as a method to heal certain illnesses. I knew keeping fit would help the body stay healthy, but I overlooked how it can help strengthen the body for the necessary treatments ahead when you’re suffering from an illness or disease. It was not until I watched my nephew go through physical therapy, to teach his body once again to function normally after a brain surgery, that it dawned on me how fitness plays a huge role in helping patients rebuild their immune system and strength. In this issue, you’ll find our annual Fit & Fab section to keep you company on your fitness and health journey. From fitness routines that would help those suffering from life-threatening ailments to simple workouts you can do at home with your BFF, we hope that you’ll find it easier to make exercise a daily affair, and perhaps start by doing an outdoor activity once a week.
