When we arrived at the village, the kids greeted us with smiles and placed handmade headbands, woven together with leaves, on our heads. We were here to witness Laneige donate 30 units of point-ofuse community water filtration systems, giving access to clean water to more than 880 residents across five villages including the newly identified Kampung Ulu Geroh and Kampung Poh, Perak, as well as Kampung Padang, Pahang.

A deeper understanding

Thanks to Global Peace Foundation Malaysia, we got a chance to talk to the villagers about their living conditions. They shared their stories about not getting clean water, especially when it rains. Their water supply trickles pass the hills causing it to turn murky – filled with sand, rocks and pebbles, bacteria and so on – when it reaches them.

Having a ball of a time

The day was just filled with laughter and fun as we danced alongside the villages during their performance. We were treated to a feast, too – made with love. The kids were overjoyed to have time for crafts while the ladies in the village were treated to an exclusive Laneige Beauty Makeover – reitirating the importance of clean drinking water for healthy skin!
