• Make sure the screen is at least one arm’s dis­tance away from the eyes • Use lower-in­ten­sity light bulbs and tubes, as eye strain can be ag­gra­vated by harsh in­te­rior light­ing • De­crease the screen’s bright­ness and con­sider get­ting an anti-glare screen pro­tec­tor • Ad­just the font size and back­ground colours, so your kids won’t have to squint to see bet­ter • Take them for eye check-ups at least once a year • En­force the 20-20-20 rule: ev­ery 20 min­utes, look up for 20 sec­onds and look at some­thing that’s 20 foot (60 me­tres) away
