WOMEN MARCH­ING AGAINST TOXIC POL­I­TICS

Prom­i­nent ladies of our time stood up for pos­i­tive change by hold­ing a march against dis­torted pol­i­tics. Re­tired judge Datuk Noor Farida Af­fin, Datin Paduka Ma­rina Ma­hathir, Nurul Iz­zah An­war, Dr Siti Hamid, and Tun Dr Siti Has­mah were among 1,000 women – from all walks of life – who gath­ered on 10th Septem­ber at Maju Junc­tion, in Kuala Lumpur, to speak out against the ris­ing tide of toxic, vi­o­lent and sex­ist pol­i­tics in the coun­try. The women at the march wanted their voice to be heard on the many is­sues they faced – proudly wav­ing their plac­ards and chant­ing slo­gans against ha­rass­ment, racist speech, threats, and sex­ist be­hav­iour, among oth­ers.
