Hermes’ heritage is rooted in the art of saddle-making, and that artisanal craft has carried over into its fashion and now furnishings lines (introduced in 2011), too. This year, it introduced Les Necessaires d’Hermes (right), a collection of essential, multi-functional pieces for the home. French designer Philippe Nigro created side tables that can double as seats, a benchand-storage unit, and valet stands.
Another recent debut is the Hermes Rallye 24 range of porcelain dinnerware (below), which is inspired by the world of automobiles with its graphic racetrack motif. The motif was first used on Hermes’ Circuit 24 silk scarf. Les Necessaires d’Hermes and Rallye 24 can be ordered from Hermes stores.
