The per­fect treat for a sunny af­ter­noon, a semifreddo, as its name would sug­gest is a semi-frozen dessert. Com­monly com­pris­ing eggs, cream, and sugar, the base of this de­light is cus­tard. Semifred­dos are com­monly punc­tu­ated with bis­cuits and other crunchy bits for tex­tu­ral con­trast in be­tween bites. Like ice cream and gelato, semifred­dos can be made us­ing any num­ber of flavour com­bi­na­tions, so go wild! This one is a sim­ple vanilla, made sat­is­fy­ingly earthy with pis­ta­chios.
