Helmed by designers Francesca Lanzavecchia from Italy and Hunn Wai from Singapore, the design firm of Lanzavecchia & Wai is known for its multi-faceted approach to design and experimentation with materials. Its penchant for producing functional items rich in context continues this year with the Scribble tables for De Castelli, Polyhedra rugs for Nodus, Flabello mirror and divider for Gallotti & Radice, and Soft Nest for House of Birds.

In particular, the Icosaedro and Dodecaedro limited-edition rugs for Nodus conjure up 3-D tactility on 2-D planes, thanks to both the skill of the Nepalese weavers, as well as designs that echo the mathematical precision of geometric forms. The colours used, however, express the romanticism of sunsets over ancient ruins.
