THE WORLD OF E-SPORTS

Can video games be considered a professional sport?

HWM (Malaysia) - - TRENDS - BY HURRAIRAH BIN SOHAIL

The stereotypical image of a gamer is that of a socially inept, overweight individual suffering from acne and a dungeon tan, living in some basement. ‘Athlete’ is not going to be the first word people associate with video game enthusiasts.

But the rise of e-sports across the globe may change that perception and becoming a professional gamer might become a lucrative career sooner that you think. Even today there is money to be made and international fame to be won for elite gamers.
