WD Establishes New Storage Association
Leading storage manufacturer establishes Storage Products Association
There are many names when it comes to the digital storage industry, which may result in very different performance from one brand to the other. In light of this, WD has announced that it has founded the Storage Products Association (SPA) with other hard drive companies to help “...promote the merits and value of rotating storage technologies.”
As of printing time, SPA members include HGST, Seagate, Toshiba and WD. In addition to creating awareness of rotating storage technologies, the organization helps storage manufacturers and users understand and support current and future storage needs, including the key role of HDDs and SSHDs (Solid State Hybrid Drives). To achieve this, the SPA will participate in industry and end-user events, and will publish materials about the storage needs of end-users and the effective use of mixed storage technologies.
The purpose of the SPA is to promote the advantages of using new storage technologies, such as this Ultra Slim 2.5” HDD from WD
