An Ultra Unveiling
LG showcases Ultra HD TVs
Sony isn’t the only one releasing more affordable Ultra HD TVs (also known as 4K TVs). Last month, LG Electronics held an event at the Pavilion KL, where they showcased their new LA9700 series of Ultra HD TVs. These two TVs come in two different sizes, 55” and 65” and are equipped with LG’s Tru-ULTRA HD Engine that also upscales any video format into near-Ultra HD picture quality.
Apart from having a powerful image engine, the two new TVs employ the use of Nano Full LED, LG’s backlighting technology. This results in enhanced illumination and better contrast, as well as consistent brightness across the entire screen. To further provide a better viewing experience, LG made use of IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology that offers better color gamut and a wider viewing angle.
The list of features doesn’t stop there. Both these TVs also come with integrated 4.1-channel speakers that are capable of pumping out 50W of sound. They are also equipped with powerful Smart TV functionality and additional connectivity options such as WiDi and Miracast.
