As the name suggests, the GALAXY S4 mini follows in the footsteps of the bigger GALAXY S4; while smaller in terms of screen size, it does adopts a similar plastic chassis that makes it the lightest at just 107g. In addition, it’s got the smallest footprint and thinnest side profile (8.94mm). If anything, the GALAXY S4 mini is very usable one-handed.

Above the 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display are the front speaker, a 1.9-megapixel camera, and the ambient light and proximity sensor. Below the display are the navigation buttons.

Powering the GALAXY S4 mini is the midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core 1.7GHz processor and 1.5GB RAM. While Samsung says on paper that it comes with 8GB of onboard storage, only approximately 5GB is actually available for the end user, as the rest is taken up by the operating system and pre-installed software. A micro-SD card slot located beneath the 1,900mAh battery supports memory cards up to 64GB.

Samsung ships the GALAXY S4 mini with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, as well as their proprietary user interface, TouchWiz. Some of the features that debuted on the GALAXY S4 can be found on the S4 mini, which include taking images with audio via Sound & Shot, multiplayer gaming and group music play via Group Play, as well as instant text or voice translation via S Translator.
