A BUSY MONTH FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

HWM (Malaysia) - - APERTURE - Bryan Chan HWM Malaysia readers@writeonmedia.com.my

Last month was a very busy month for photographers in Malaysia because there were many photography-related events that took place. First there was the second Camera and Electronics Expo (CEX) at VIVA Home Mall, Cheras and just a couple of weeks later, the annual World Press Photo (WPP) 2013 exhibition was held in Bangsar Shopping Centre.

At WPP 2013, we learned that two Malaysians won in different categories, with Dr. Chen Wei Seng grabbing first prize in the Sports Action category and Stefen Chow, who won second prize in the Staged Portraits category. At the event, we also managed to learn about the inaugural OBSCURA Festival, an international photography festival in Penang that ran for 10 days and featured exhibitions, workshops, and portfolio reviews. I guess I’m trying to say that it’s exciting to see more Malaysians becoming active in the local photography scene.

As usual, you can share any comments or feedback that you may have by heading over to our forums at forums.hardwarezone.com.my
