Cameras Galore at CEX 2013

Shutterbugs flock to Camera and Electronics Expo (CEX) 2013

HWM (Malaysia) - - APERTURE -

The Camera and Electronics Expo (CEX) is an annual event that’s held to bring photography lovers a chance to purchase more camera gear at affordable prices. This year, the event was held once again at the Viva Home Mall in Cheras over the course of three days, from 2 to 4, August. HWM was proud to be part of the event, as the official media. Not only were we there to cover the event, we had the opportunity to sell copies of our annual photography Mega guide, which is a comprehensive guide for budding photographers to learn everything about photography.

Apart from the chance to purchase more camera-related equipment, CEX 2013 also served as a means for budding photographers to learn more about this profession as there were many established local photographers that gave talks there. Among the photographers present at CEX 2013 were Ming Thein, Brian Chong, Justin Lai, Saiful Nang, Che’ Ahmad Azhar, Crystal Ng and Patrick Low.

The talks were open to the public and attendance was free-of-charge. Attendees that had the opportunity to sit through the talks were also given the chance to put their new found knowledge to use because there was a Miss Scuba Malaysia 2013 photography contest held during the event. At the event, attendees were given the chance to take photos of 12 finalists from the pageant and stood a chance to win attractive prizes from a prize pool worth RM3,000 in total.

For the Miss Scuba Malaysia 2013 photography contest, the first prize winner walked away with RM1,500, while the first runner-up and second runner-up won RM1,000 and RM500, respectively. Seven lucky winners also walked away with 15” Think Tank bags each.

In addition, on the final day of CEX 2013, a catwalk event was organized where attendees were given the chance to photograph all the beautiful booth promoters from the various exhibitors. During this catwalk event, two very special ladies made a guest appearance, Ms. Stilly Goh, Miss GT Queen Malaysia 2013 and Ms. Adeline Tan, the first runner up for Miss GT Queen Malaysia 2013.

During CEX 2013, there were many exhibitors that set up shop. Whether you were looking for full camera kits or just accessories, the many shops definitely catered to the needs and wants of all the attendees. The following are some of the more notable booths.

For those eager to see some of the beautiful booth promoters, we managed to get a couple of shots for you.
