Nikon celebrates Ramadhan with walkabout
In celebration of Ramadhan, Nikon Malaysia took a different approach in organizing its regular photography walkabout. The major difference about this walkabout was that there was no competition between the participants. Instead, the Ramadhan Walkabout was held as a family event where participants and their loved ones could spend time together and capture photos as a family.
The Ramadhan Walkabout was held for three weeks during the month of Ramadhan and took place in nine different cities, namely Kuantan, Kota Bharu, Kuala Terengganu, Kuala Dungun, Kuching, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Alor Setar and Ipoh.
At each of the Walkabouts, the number of participants averaged around 80 to 120 members, excluding family members. During the events, participants were seen discussing and sharing tips on photography.
David Ng, General Manager of Consumer Products and Marketing for Nikon said, “Events like the Walkabout are a platform for families to get together and foster a stronger relationship. Nikon seeks to help consumers capture their life chapters and with the right camera, anything is possible. This is the core essence that Nikon stands for; to create cameras that are able to make memories ‘at the heart of the image’.”
The Nikon Ramadhan Walkabout has been held annually since 2011 and is an open event to all Nikon Club members, with no participation fee required. Members who want to find out more about this or any other Nikon Club events can contact Nikon by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling (03) 2142 0218.
