The Initial Steps
You will be able to use the Ready CLOUD services with every NETGEAR ReadyNAS system. The first step begins with you plugging your ReadyNAS into an empty Local Area Network (LAN) port on your home router. Once that is done, open your Internet browser and enter http://readycloud. netgear.com in the URL bar.
Upon entering the site, you will be prompted to create a new account, or sign in with your credentials if you already have a Ready CLOUD account. Without the need to say so, remembering the details of this account is important as this will be the account with which you manage your ReadyNAS.
Once you’ve created and/or signed in with your ReadyNAS account, you’ll be given access to a number of options. Under the Discover tab, you’ll be able to see all the ReadyNAS systems that are connected to your LAN.
Simply click the ‘Setup’ button next to the ReadyNAS you want to add, and then ‘Join Now’, and your personal cloud storage is now online! To access your cloud storage, just type in the same URL mentioned above and you’ll be able to access your storage space anywhere from around the globe, as long as you have an Internet connection.
