SMB & HD Zone Sections
For our extended sections of SMB and HD Zone, we test and review hardware for their specific target markets, which is business and HD (High-Definition) respectively. In particular, SMB products are analyzed for its productivity and ROI as well as TCO factors, while HD products are examined for their entertainment and lifestyle quality in a digital life.
Wireless tests are conducted via a notebook which has an integrated Intel Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) N (IEEE 802.11n) adapter. Performance is gauged at varying distances (5, 10, and 20 meters) by moving the notebook around, while the tested wireless router stays stationary. We use default settings.
The router is connected via a network cable to a test computer’s network port. 1GB of data, of various file sizes, is copied over the wireless network. The tests take into account obstacles like people and walls, and hence results can vary with different environments.
