Earlier last month, the local media were reintroduced to Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN), a specialist in mobile broadband. Formerly known as Nokia Siemens Networks, the company had been fully acquired by Nokia as of August 2013.
Representing NSN was John Lancaster-Lennox, Head of Asia South, Nokia Solutions and Networks Malaysia. During the meeting, John explained about the company’s performance during its 2013 third quarter performance, and its wide product portfolio.
Among the goals of NSN is to provide users with innovative services that allow them to interact with one another better. When asked about their performance during the third quarter of 2013, John noted that NSN managed to achieve its sixth consecutive quarter of strong profitability performance and stated that this makes them a capable company in the industry.
John also talked about the various solutions that are within NSN’s portfolio, highlighting its standard LTE solutions, which the company has acquired up to 97 global contracts. NSN also introduced its next-generation LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) solution, which enhances uplink and downlink performance, allowing users to enjoy faster data transmission speeds.
Other new innovations in technology that were hinted include VoLTE, a voice over IP that allows user to make calls faster with the benefit of crisp HD quality audio. Another new technology that was shown during our session was TD-LTE. This new technology allows users to utilize both their downlink and uplink lines for either downloads of uploads, which in turn provide faster download and upload speeds as and when they need it.
