Ninetology Fights to Save Nature
Partners with Malaysian Nature society in phone recycling program
Nearing the end of last year, Ninetology ASEAN and the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) formed an exclusive recycling program in order to combat the high number of wastage and pollution, due to the high number of disposable mobile phones in the country. Dubbed Smart Ecology 2, the goal of the recycling program is to reduce the damaging effects on the environment.
“It is never smart to have accumulating unused devices in almost every corner of our very own homes as it gives more harm than any good in the long run, especially when new smartphones are launched every other day. Hence, our initiative of Smart Ecology 2 with MNS to provide a platform for people who are looking to upgrade their phones,” commented Sean Ng, CEO of Ninetology ASEAN commented.
This initiative helps users who are looking to upgrade their current mobile phones by trading in their old phones. The old phones will then be gathered by MNS and its Recycle for Nature team, which they will then dispose of or recycle via the Green Recycling method. Each part of the devices will be segregated, repaired and then reused for future devices.
There are a total of seven Ninetology models that are selected to be part of this initiative, with three models included in the program: the U9R1, Stealth II, and Insight.
As encouragement, the Smart Ecology 2 program offers rebates of up to RM200 to users who trade-in their used mobile phones.
