PIKOM PC Fair 2013 (III)
PIKOM Held the Final PC Fair of 2013 in December
Getting charged up at the final PC Fair of 2013.
As 2013 came to an end, so too did the events for the year. As you all know, the PC Fair happens three times annually and December signified the third and final PIKOM PC Fair for 2013. While not as packed and preppy as the two PC Fairs that happened earlier in 2013, the event was still nonetheless something that many Malaysians looked forward to for great bargains on PC hardware, such as components, new notebook PCs and computer accessories.
The PIKOM PC Fair 2013 (III) lasted a total of three days, taking place over a weekend. So, here’s a breakdown of what happened, as well as what we did over those three days.
The first day was obviously the busiest days of the fair. People from all over excitedly barged in to the halls as soon as the gates officially opened in the morning. Very quickly, the floors in all five halls filled up with the crowd and the retailers present were soon having more than just a handful of customers coming and going.
Needless to say, we also had our own booth at the event and that we too, had our own promotion and offers for the general public. This time around, we were offering every subscriber to our magazine an Olmaster Freely 3 Notebook cooling pad, along with an Enerpad 6,000mAh power bank.
It wasn’t just the subscription promotions that we were offering. We also showcased a number of powerful rigs that were customized to suit the needs of every type of PC user. The jewel of our display though, was the ultimate high-end Belladonna custom desktop PC that was assembled by a.p.e.s. (Asia PC Extreme Syndicate), as well as a gaming rig and a home entertainment system that were assembled by our own editorial team in HWM Malaysia.
On the second day of the fair, we had a look around the halls to find out what the other retailers and distributors were showcasing at the fair. Needless to say, there were many of the vendors around that day. ASUS, MSI, Dell, Microsoft, Intel, AMD, OKI and Brother were just some of the vendors that were present at the PC Fair. Each booth had their own form of entertainment and attractive offers on their products.
Resellers and retailers such as Jayacom were there as well and they were a hit with the crowd, offering special promotions that would last for the duration of the PIKOM PC Fair 2013 (III). The deal was also extended beyond the halls of the events as well. Just in case you didn’t know; in the future, if you cannot make it to the PC Fair, know that whatever deals that are being offered during the PC Fair extends towards all other outlets of participating vendors (within the PC Fair weekend, of course).
As the PIKOM PC Fair 2013 (III) winded down for the year, we thought it would be interesting to check out the fun and quirky things some of the exhibitors decided to do during the last day.
First up on our list is Microsoft and the Kinect. Yes, we know that the Kinect has been around for a while now, but the software giant had set up a small little area for the visitors to experience with. Needless to say, the kids who were there flocked to the point and were gleefully jumping with joy over the game that was on display. Even the booth babe was getting into it and showing the kids the way around the game.
MSI was another fun booth to visit. The manufacturer had actually set up a 3-screen racing machine, with full get-up that a racing sim would actually have. Clearly, they weren’t sparing any expense in enhancing the racing experience for the crowd that were clearly lining up behind them.
Dell had their own version of a racing sim up as well, though they weren’t as wellequipped as MSI. However, that being said, they did have a pretty impressive 3-screen setup that presented smooth frame rates.
On a final note, we retreat back to our own booth, where we decided to show you one last scene of the Belladonna as it gets dismantled. This behemoth of a desktop, which was the draw of the crowd to our booth may look good, but as the a.p.e.s technician present there said to us, disassembling the Belladonna was actually the real challenge (or chore, as the technician very delicately put it).
With that being said, we can’t wait for the next set of PIKOM PC Fair events in 2014 and hope to see you, our dear readers, again. Until then, here are a few more pictures of the booth babes that graced us with their presence.
As you’d expect, we had a booth in Hall 5 of the KL Convention Center.
The Belladonna, the star attraction at our booth.
….and also our ready-made Gaming Rig!
People could try out our Home Entertainment PC...
And voila! The Belladonna is ready for transport.
