OKI Unveils First White Toner Printer
Opens New Markets with the Introduction of White Toner Printers
OKI has introduced the industry’s first white toner A4 printer, the C711WT. The new C711WT was revealed at the International Printing, Paper and Packaging Machinery Exhibition (IPMEX 2013) at Putra World Trade Center in October.
As the first company to introduce a toner-based solution to the ‘white printer’ sector, OKI foresees that they can significantly expand what has so far been a highly-specialized, complex, costly and low-volume market. Among the possible applications of the printer include T-shirt transfers and film printing to innovative in-store point of sale applications in local market.
“In the past, products have been based on inkjet, dye sublimation or transfer film-ready technologies. These printers have niche applications in areas such as garment graphic printing or printing proofs for packaging application which are typically expensive both to purchase and maintain. Moreover, the production time is lengthy,” said Goh Yin Hwang, Country Manager of OKI Data Pte Ltd – Malaysia Rep Office.
The new printer can be used in a number of key markets. Among the new possible markets include transfer media printing, as well as ceramic decoration, back light signage by transparency film and film printing for packaging. The C711WT will also offer creative point of sale signage opportunities for window or glass display in retail outlets or car windows.
Besides the above examples, the C711WT offers advantages over other white printing devices as OKI’s new product makes it more affordable for the first time to SMBs and organizations.
