According to Wataru Nishioka, President and CEO, Canon Marketing Malaysia, the event marks an exciting year for Canon’s Consumer System Product Division, as the brand has consistently held on to the top spot as the number one inkjet printer of choice in Malaysia for the 18th time. Malaysia is currently ranked the number one country among all Canon subsidiaries worldwide.
The most talked about printers at the event were the PIXMA Ink Efficient E400 and E560 series. These multifunction color printers feature easy-to-use design, affordability, and low maintenance cost, with ink cartridges from as low as RM25.
Both printers double as a scanner. The E400 is capable of scanning at 600 x 1,200 DPI and could print up to 400 pages on a single cartridge. The E560, with its larger ink capacity, is Wi-Fi enabled and could print up to 800 pages per black cartridge, perform duplex printing, and scan at a resolution of up to 1,200 x 2,400 DPI.
Canon also introduced two new PIXMA Office All-in-One printers, the MX477 and the MX537. Combining the functionality of a printer, scanner, and fax machine, both the MX477 and the MX537 offers Wi-Fi connectivity, cloud printing, along with support for dual cartridges (color and black) that come in regular and large capacity sizes. In addition, the MX537 features a 30-sheet Auto Document Feeder, Auto Duplex Print capability, and PIXMA Cloud Link.
For those looking for single-function printers, Canon launched the twin PIXMA iX6870 and iX6770 office single-function A3 printers, the compact and affordable PIXMA iP2670, and the entry-level professional PIXMA iP8770. Both the PIXMA iX6870 and iX6770 is network-enabled, takes five individual ink cartridges, and could print on paper up to A3 in size. The iX6870 also features Wi-Fi connectivity.
The PIXMA iP8770 boasts best-in-class photo print quality, Wi-Fi connectivity, alongside compatibility with AirPrint, Wireless PictBridge and Google Cloud Print. It is the first six-ink photo printer with the introduction of the gray ink, which Canon says helped improve print quality, both in monochrome and color prints, and it takes on paper up to A3 in size.
Canon Marketing Malaysia’s new Consumer System Product Division Head, Jeffrey Kung said that each model has been specifically designed with the customer in mind. He added that with the exciting and innovative product launch, Canon will be able to increase their market share in the industry.
