Ac­cord­ing to Wataru Nish­ioka, Pres­i­dent and CEO, Canon Mar­ket­ing Malaysia, the event marks an ex­cit­ing year for Canon’s Con­sumer Sys­tem Prod­uct Di­vi­sion, as the brand has con­sis­tently held on to the top spot as the num­ber one inkjet printer of choice in Malaysia for the 18th time. Malaysia is cur­rently ranked the num­ber one coun­try among all Canon sub­sidiaries world­wide.

The most talked about print­ers at the event were the PIXMA Ink Ef­fi­cient E400 and E560 se­ries. These mul­ti­func­tion color print­ers fea­ture easy-to-use de­sign, af­ford­abil­ity, and low main­te­nance cost, with ink car­tridges from as low as RM25.

Both print­ers dou­ble as a scan­ner. The E400 is ca­pa­ble of scan­ning at 600 x 1,200 DPI and could print up to 400 pages on a sin­gle car­tridge. The E560, with its larger ink ca­pac­ity, is Wi-Fi en­abled and could print up to 800 pages per black car­tridge, per­form du­plex print­ing, and scan at a res­o­lu­tion of up to 1,200 x 2,400 DPI.

Canon also in­tro­duced two new PIXMA Of­fice All-in-One print­ers, the MX477 and the MX537. Com­bin­ing the func­tion­al­ity of a printer, scan­ner, and fax ma­chine, both the MX477 and the MX537 of­fers Wi-Fi con­nec­tiv­ity, cloud print­ing, along with sup­port for dual car­tridges (color and black) that come in reg­u­lar and large ca­pac­ity sizes. In ad­di­tion, the MX537 fea­tures a 30-sheet Auto Doc­u­ment Feeder, Auto Du­plex Print ca­pa­bil­ity, and PIXMA Cloud Link.

For those look­ing for sin­gle-func­tion print­ers, Canon launched the twin PIXMA iX6870 and iX6770 of­fice sin­gle-func­tion A3 print­ers, the com­pact and af­ford­able PIXMA iP2670, and the en­try-level pro­fes­sional PIXMA iP8770. Both the PIXMA iX6870 and iX6770 is net­work-en­abled, takes five in­di­vid­ual ink car­tridges, and could print on paper up to A3 in size. The iX6870 also fea­tures Wi-Fi con­nec­tiv­ity.

The PIXMA iP8770 boasts best-in-class photo print qual­ity, Wi-Fi con­nec­tiv­ity, along­side com­pat­i­bil­ity with AirPrint, Wire­less Pic­tBridge and Google Cloud Print. It is the first six-ink photo printer with the in­tro­duc­tion of the gray ink, which Canon says helped im­prove print qual­ity, both in mono­chrome and color prints, and it takes on paper up to A3 in size.

Canon Mar­ket­ing Malaysia’s new Con­sumer Sys­tem Prod­uct Di­vi­sion Head, Jef­frey Kung said that each model has been specif­i­cally de­signed with the cus­tomer in mind. He added that with the ex­cit­ing and in­no­va­tive prod­uct launch, Canon will be able to in­crease their mar­ket share in the in­dus­try.
