Watch Dogs Confirmed for Late May 2014
Ubisoft Announced Release Date After Five Months of Additional Polish
Ubisoft’s much-anticipated, cross-platform action game was previously postponed from its November 2013 release to a vague Spring 2014 release window. The reason behind the delay was to ensure that the game will deliver on expectations through additional polish. Five months after the fact, Ubisoft officially confirmed that Watch Dogs is set for worldwide release on May 27, 2014.
In Watch Dogs, gamers will assumer the role of Aiden Pearce, a skilled hacker and ex-thug, as he uncovers a dark underworld and exacts revenge on those who wronged him. Together with his hacking prowess and his skills at using firearm and stun baton, Aiden will turn the city of Chicago into a weapon against his foes, which include powerful moguls, ruthless crime lords and other “hackers”. However, he will not be alone, as he will have the help of the enigmatic Clara, the tinkering free-spirit T-Bone, as well as other “hackers” with the use of Watch Dogs’ companion app.
Watch Dogs is currently available for pre-order and will include exclusive in-game content, such as 60 minutes of additional gameplay exclusively for the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game. In the U.S., the Watch Dogs Limited Edition includes an original game soundtrack, Aiden’s iconic Vigilante Mask, hardcover artbook, steelbook packaging, a 9-inch figurine and digital extras – all housed in a collector’s box.
